Accessibility statement
A clinic that serves everyone needs a website that works for everyone. That's the standard we hold ourselves to.
Our commitment
We aim for this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. Accessibility shaped how the site was designed and built.
What we've built in
- Full keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators and a skip-to-content link
- Color contrast that meets or exceeds AA on every text pairing
- Plain language on patient pages: short sentences, no jargon
- Reduced-motion support: animations are disabled when your device requests it
- Touch targets sized for real thumbs, and layouts that work at 200% zoom
- Screen-reader-friendly structure: landmarks, one heading hierarchy per page, descriptive link text and alt text
Known limitations
- Spanish translations currently cover our core patient pages, not the whole site. If you prefer another language, tell us when you call and we will do our best to help.
- Some downloadable event documents (PDFs) were produced outside this website and may not be fully accessible. Call us and we'll gladly share their contents another way.
Tell us what's not working
If any part of this site is hard for you to use, tell us and we will fix it. Call 252-633-1599 or email info@merciclinic.org and tell us what happened. We respond within a few business days.
