MERCI Clinic offers a variety of volunteer opportunities such as:

  • Primary Care providers

  • Dental Health providers

  • Nurses/LPNS/Assessment nurses

  • Dental tech/hygienists

  • Clerical

  • Data entry

  • Front desk

  • Telephone

  • Lab (simple procedures, no venipuncture)

  • Pharmacists/Pharmacy Techs/Pill Counters

  • Interpreter

  • Special projects

  • Fundraising

  • Maintenance / Yard Work

  • Board members

  • And more!

 

Due to COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, we are now offering some remote and virtual volunteering opportunities. If you are interested, please note this in your application.

We do expect that all volunteers will commit (2) 4-hour shifts per month, for a minimum of 8 hours/month.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at the MERCI Clinic, please complete the application form below. Once completed and submitted, the application will go directly to the Executive Director who will forward the application to the appropriate staff member in charge. CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPENINGS

VACCINE CLINIC

In preparation for the fall respiratory season, we need licensed nurses, pharmacist, or alternative healthcare workers to help to provide COVID, pneumococcal, and influenza vaccinations for our patients.  The position would require about 3-4 hours every other week. Please fill out the volunteer form or call Sue Hall at 252-633-1599.

ELIGIBILITY AND REFERRALS

Must have a willingness to assist those in need, possess attention to detail, and communication skills. Will aid in establishing new patients and connecting them to outside services.

ONLINE PRESENCE COORDINATOR

Assist us in creating an expanded online presence for MERCI Clinic through increased posting, and expanding social media venues. Required to post at least once daily on two of MERCI's social media accounts for a total of 12 posts a week. These need to be ENGAGING.

Use your creativity! The posts can include polls, funny pictures, news articles, and more!

PUBLIC HEALTH INTERN

Calling soon-to-be graduates in the Public Health Field including MPH & MHA candidates. This position can fulfill a school requirement for internship or provide much needed experience in the non-profit sector. Learn the ins and outs of managing a Free & Charitable Clinic, assist in grants, develop community bonds and connections, and more! Can be a hybrid learning option.
